Colin Gagné

 

Sound designer and mixer

 

Colin Gagné has been working in sound, sound design, and composition ever since he earned his diploma in Electroacoustic Composition at the Université de Montréal. He worked with Akousma, the Société de musique contemporaine du Québec (SMCQ), and Mutek, among others, and teaches musical technology at Saint-Laurent Cegep.

 

Colin collaborates on music projects as well as plays and circus shows, in addition to creating electronic music under the alias inocl (inocl.bandcamp.com). Recently, he produced the album Dehors for MEB. At the Théâtre du Nouveau Monde (TNM), he designed sound effects for Journal d’Anne Frank (directed by Lorraine Pintal) and assisted in the sound design of La Divine Illusion (directed by Serge Denoncourt). He handled sound design for the puppet show La Minuscule (Dominique Leroux).

 

Since his first circus-related experience with Cirque Éloize (Rain, iD, Cirkopolis), Colin has been working on musical arrangements and sound design for creations by 7 doigts de la main, including Murmure du coquelicot, Intersection, Triptyque, the opening ceremony for the 2014 Sotchi Olympic Games, and Cuisine et Confession, for which he composed part of the music. He has also handled sound design for Voyage d’hiver (Nord Nord Est) and Reset (Throw2Catch).
